New Asus Netbook being released
I just need to win the lottery so I can afford to spend that much on a new system heh. An Asus 1201n would be cool to have.
The Asus 1201n features a 12.1-inch LCD with a HD resolution of 1366 x 768 pixels using nVidia Ion graphics (HDMI output supporting 1080p apparently too). Not only that, it's got an Intel Atom 330 Dual core processor (1.6GHz), a major upgrade from the single core 270/280 Atom's that most netbooks come with and what usually turns me off from them. Also, you get 2GB of RAM that you can upgrade to 3 maximum. Other built in stuff include the fairly standard 250GB hard drive, 802.11n WiFi, & not quite as common Bluetooth. It's also got 3 USB ports as well as Ethernet and VGA.
All told though, I can't really justify spending the money just for something shiny. It's not like my Toshiba u200 is that bad (12" screen, 1 gig of ram, 120gb hd, 3 USB, Bluetooth and also has a builtin in optical drive) but having HDMI output with wireless N & the major thing, the battery life. The new ASUS is supposed to get 5 or 6 hours at least from the battery whereas my Toshiba gets under 2 on average for what I do (I really need to close some firefox tabs, it chew sup a lot of ram and cpu at times).
